It is really refreshing to see true craftsmanship in the production of simple items, like T-shirts. As you can well imagine, the Harry Potter T-shirts are so numerous that they could be a “stand alone” cottage industry.
For short-sleeve and tank styles, log onto www.hottopic.com. There you will find T-shirts with the insignias for Gryffindor and Slytherin houses. At one time, they also featured an appropriately creepy “Friend or Foe” T-shirt with the image of Severus Snape. Unfortunately, others have beaten us to this site, and the style may be sold out. Of course, you can always try to secure it from other Harry Potter websites.
The most beautiful Harry Potter T-shirts online are the ones directly sold by Warner Bros. Their website, known as “The Official Warner Bros. Harry Potter Shop,” features long sleeve shirts for adults with the Durmstrang, Hogwarts, and Gryffindor insignias. These crests are not just on the front of the shirts; they are repeated down the sleeves, from the shoulder to the wrist. These shirts are not cheap, but the quality justifies the price.
For some reason, these items cannot be shipped outside of the United States. A good guess would be the possibility of unlawful duplication of the designs, which could result in a barrage of cheaper quality “knock-off” shirts. While there are some who claim that illegal duplication of clothing is inevitable (especially if the product is a popular item in the United States), there is no reason that Warner Bros. should be ignorantly complicit in allowing that to happen.
