We’ve read the books and seen all of the movies, or at least all of the movies that have been released. We can’t wait for the new one this year, or the ones in the years to follow, even though we already know the endings. What’s a true Harry Potter fan to do? Why not go shopping?
In less than one hour at the computer, you can locate several sites devoted to “all things Harry.” For example, log onto www.noblecollection.com to find wands for all of the main characters, replicas of the Time Turner, the Final Challenge Chess Set, Lucius Malfoy’s walking stick, the Sorcerer’s Stone and the Goblet of Fire. There are more items available as well.
Warner Bros. Studios, home of the Harry Potter movies, is about to expand their website offerings of merchandise. Currently, “The Official Warner Brothers Harry Potter Shop” offers beautiful T-shirts in sizes for adults and children, ponytail holders, other accessories in the colors of Gryffindor and the other different houses, i.e., Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Denim jackets are available emblazoned with the Hogwarts crest. Collectors can find trading cards and action figures and of course, DVDs of the movies.
“Broomsticks and Owls,” combines collectible items with the latest news for Harry Potter fans. Here you can find the Quidditch Golden Snitch Bracelet and the Double Buckle Leather Harry Potter Briefcase. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase these items directly from the site. It redirects you elsewhere.
There are many more items available online, for those who have specific items in mind. A word to the wise would be to set a budget and stick to it. Otherwise, you’ll need that magic wand when the bills come due.
