The use of a wand to focus energy goes back many centuries. As a young wizard, Harry is just learning about its power and how to properly care for it. In fact, every major character in the series has a wand. For the largest collection, visit www.noblecollection.com. There, you can find all of the wands for each major character. They come in beautiful keepsake boxes, making storage a breeze.
It is said that the use of wands is actually a Celtic tradition. The people of the time held trees in the highest esteem and thought of them as having metaphysical powers. Each tree represented different qualities. The legend is that if in love and wishing to cast a spell upon your intended, the wand would be carved from a birch bark. If ill and wishing to recover, the spell should be administered using a wand from an ash tree. If tired and/or overwhelmed, an energy elixir would be enhanced with the use of a wand from an elm tree.
It is interesting that this lore has been placed on the back burner by societies for centuries, while we ran around learning to “meditate,” or focus our energy when praying. Many of us, when confronted with the use of items to focus our energy consider them “evil,” yet they were designed for the same good purpose. It took a popular children’s book series to lead us back to exploring these realms that have peacefully coexisted with us for centuries.
