It had to happen. The most popular book and movie series of all time, which has generated multi-million dollars of sales in bookstores and movie theatres around the world, had to have a “one-stop” online store where all things “Harry” could be purchased, with exception of the books themselves.
Operated by Warner Bros. Studios, home of all of the Harry Potter movies, this online nirvana has everything related to our favorite young wizard. The popularity of these books and movies are not limited to children; therefore, many of the featured items are designed and/or sized for adults. Halloween costume masks, hair accessories emblazoned with the different house crests of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, embroidered jackets with the Hogwarts School logos, and beautifully designed t-shirts are just a few of the items available for serious Harry Potter fans.
The detail on each of these items is amazing. For example, the t-shirts are not hastily silk-screened, but carry a repetition of the front crest design on each long sleeve. The collectible replicas of actual prop items, i.e., the Goblet of Fire, are crafted with the miniscule details of authenticity that any true fan would appreciate. For serious fans that are on a budget, die cast action figures and trading cards provide a way to reasonably begin a small collection of memorabilia. Like all retail establishments, the Harry Potter Shop is sensitive to today’s worldwide economic conditions, and offers discounts on many different items.
Visiting this online shop is a true exercise in discipline. I would advise you to set a budget before logging on, and stick to it. You may otherwise find the temptations too great to resist.
